A Quick and Easy French Toast Recipe
If you are searching for a quick and easy recipe for french toast to add to your repetoir, then look no further. There are many variations on this basic french toast recipe. Most are pretty indulgent bit I opted to keep this fairly simple. This is fun, quick and easy. I also decided to go with a skinny slice of bread, which works well for younger eaters or those wanting to watch the carbs.
This french toast recipe works with many types of bread be it white, whole wheat, challah, you name it.
Here we are using a skinny cut of brioche, served hot with butter or margarine and maple syrup. I also decided against the powdered sugar on this occasion, but don’t let that stop your fun.

Ingredients
- 6-8 slices of brioche bread
- 2 Eggs
- dash of cinnamon (1/4 tablespoon)
- dash of nutmeg (1/4 tablespoon)
- 2/3 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- sprinkle of salt to taste
- powdered sugar (optional)
how to cook
Beat together egg, milk, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon spices and vanilla in a large enough bowl to dredge the bread
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or skillet over medium-high heat with butter or oil.
Dunk each slice of bread in egg mixture, soaking both sides.
Place in pan, and cook on both sides until golden. Serve hot.
Top with fruit of your choice!
