What is a charcuterie and cheese board?
A charcuterie and cheese board is pretty much anything you want it to be. I usually make some variation of this when I know im going to be entertaining a group of friends or family. For special events, or even for a low-key date night in. It’s the perfect snack or meal for many different occasions.
What to include in a charcuterie board:
Cured meat
Think Salami, chorizo, and prosciutto. There are different types of ham to include as well like serrano or parma. You could even add a pate if you’re feeling fancy!
Cheese
My favorite is a nice blue stilton, a smoked cheddar, Raclette or Gruyere. But anything goes.
Fruit
I almost always pair my cheeses with grapes, strawberries and apples so this always works. you can also include figs, cherries, or any stone fruit such as plums or peaches if they are in season.
Bread and crackers
Breadsticks, rosemary crackers, or even a mini baguette will work
pickles and preserves
just that, olives, sundried tomatoes, pickles or chutney, or even a fresh pesto!
