When I decided to make these easy oven-baked oats, I thought–this better not let me down! The last viral tik tok recipe I tried left a lot to be desired. I definitely felt it wasn’t worth the hype, so i decided to give this another go in hopes that this would be different. I love anything with oats, and even more so, breakfast. So when I heard that this was akin to eating cake for breakfast, I was all in.
Luckily I had most of the ingredients I needed in my pantry already, and that my friends is the ultimate indicator that this is an easy dish! This wins double points because I knew my kids would love it. These are easy baked oats because you just toss it all in a blender and stick it in the oven
I then moved to think about ingredients. I’m chocolate obsessed, and my husband and I are obsessed with blueberry muffins, so I knew blueberry would be a winner and that I could make a chocolate chip version as well.
How to make easy oven baked oats
Gather your ingredients, starting with either quick oats or rolled oats/porridge.
You will also need 1 ripe banana and one egg
Sweetener of choice, which is totally optional. I decided to use some raw honey in this baked oats recipe
baking powder to fluff it up–remember, cake for breakfast!
A pinch of salt
Toppings of choice, like blueberries, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, etc.
Blend and bake!
Top tip, If you want to make more than one serving of baked oats double up the recipe and you should be good to go. A word of warning, When I did this, I added 2 bananas and found the oats tasted very much like banana so the next time I may use 1 1/2 bananas for 2 servings in the recipe
